The 15th Anniversary Of A Nostalgic and Heartwarming Disney Pixar Classic Film

Welcome back, my fellow film lovers! In this blog post, I wanted to talk about a very sentimental and beautiful Disney Pixar movie called Up, which has still touched our hearts today, as it was recently its 15th anniversary.

Up

Up (Summary) –

A young boy named Carl Fredricksen met a girl named Ellie inside an abandoned and wrecked home. Carl was shy at first, but they connected when they met once again inside his house and began to share their interests and dreams. Ellie told him that one of her dreams was to see Paradise Falls. Many years later, they got married and lived in the house where they first met as kids. Soon, they received the news that Ellie would have a baby. Filled with excitement, they began to build the nursery for the baby, but they were illustrated to have been told that Ellie wasn’t able to have the baby. To uplift their spirits, they started to save money to go to Paradise Falls, until one day, when they grew older, Ellie began to feel very sick. After Ellie had passed away, Carl was left alone and isolated inside their home. A boy scout named Russell asked Carl if he could be of service to earn a badge, but all Carl wanted was to be unbothered. Due to modern-day construction, Carl’s home would be removed, but he decided to blow enough balloons to lift the house and head to fulfill his late wife’s dream to Paradise Falls. Unaware, Russell accompanied Carl throughout this journey to find out that they had to save each other from the evil plans of his idol while having a strong bond with a talking dog, a big colorful bird, and each other.

My Review –

When I first watched this film, I enjoyed it to the extent a little girl would love, such as seeing a colorful bird and a talking dog. However, as I continuously watched it as I got older, I looked at this film differently in terms of its emotional aspect and how it compares to what many people have faced in real life. For instance, now I have finally understood what was happening during the scene when Ellie and Carl speak to the doctor, as Ellie is in tears while Carl comforts her. In this scene, I realized that Ellie wasn’t able to have the baby anymore, but it could have been due to many reasons, such as her having had a miscarriage. Towards the movie’s end, people see Russell receiving the badge at his ceremony, which the father usually gives. I understood that at this moment, Russell’s father wasn’t present in the family, leaving Carl as a father figure for Russell, as he had given him the badge. Although this movie had substantial sentimental value and life lessons, I have learned that life can come with disappointment and heartbreak. Still, essential figures in our lives help us with the pain by removing it or supporting us through anything. Not only did this movie tear me up, but it also made me laugh because of the humor given by the talking dogs and Russell’s actions throughout the movie. This movie was a fantastic way to learn more about the reality of life, with a moment to laugh and enjoy a sense of adventure given throughout the movie’s plot.

Public Review –

Many have enjoyed this film for various reasons. Still, everyone shares this one reason: how Carl and Ellie’s relationship defines true love as Carl makes the best effort to fulfill his late wife’s dream, even if it meets challenges along the way. Based on the interpretation, the audience has viewed this film as heart-warming, sentimental, and adventurous. People have enjoyed and were captivated by the artistic aspect of the film, as it includes beautiful landscapes while expressing vibrant and colorful backgrounds and characteristics. The worldwide box office for this film was 735,099,082 million dollars and 293,004,164 million dollars in the United States. This film has been loved by all, raising its success to the highest Disney Pixar film in the industry, as people have valued its masterpiece of a storyline and the relationships illustrated between the film’s main characters, such as Ellie and Carl.
