Welcome back, my fellow film lovers! As Halloween season has arrived, I wanted to give you guys a nostalgic feeling for an iconic and classic Disney Channel original film called Halloweentown, which has been deeply loved by all since its release and to this day.
Halloweentown
Halloweentown (Summary) –
On Marnie Piper’s thirteenth birthday, on Halloween Day, her grandmother arrived to celebrate and enjoy the Halloween spirit as they both love the holiday. As her grandmother tells Marnie and her siblings that she has to leave, they follow her near the bus stop where their grandmother is waiting. The children find it odd because there shouldn’t be a bus arriving at midnight. For Marnie’s curiosity, the children snuck up behind the bus and got inside to follow their grandmother. Suddenly, the bus entered a magical whirl and landed in a town called Halloweentown. When they arrived, the children saw a variety of supernatural creatures, such as warlocks, witches, goblins, and more. Marnie and her siblings went up to a taxi driver, who was a skeleton, and asked if he knew where his grandmother lived. He answered them and drove them to her house. Soon, the children discover that their family, from their mother’s side, are all witches. Although Marnie is the most excited of all, later on, they get involved in a long-lasting fight with an evil warlock named Kalabar and find ways to defeat him to save Halloweentown and the rest of the world from turning into these supernatural creatures.

My Review-
For most of my life, I have loved watching Halloween films; Halloween is a fantastic holiday to have fun and a scary fright with family and friends. Although this movie came out in 1998, I loved every second, as it demonstrates a friendly representation of legendary supernatural creatures. This film signifies a magnificent and friendly idea of how not all these creatures must be evil. As I also love comedic features in cinema, this movie mastered every cheesy and funny moment with incredible acting. While watching the movie, I captured the creative and unique costumes, masks, and make-up used for this entire film, making it more lovable than ever. My favorite part of the whole film was when Marnie still had the bravery and strength, after getting hit by Kalabar’s powers, to light up the pumpkin with the glowing globe to stop him and save the world. This movie has been on my top Halloween movies watchlist for its outstanding magical setting and supernatural representation of the moral good.
Public Review-
As there are several Disney fans, especially those who have watched the original Disney films and enjoyed this film, a couple of other films were created to produce a Halloweentown movie series. From the first film’s exceptional ratings, these other films have continued to expand its success further. Many fans have categorized this film as fantastic and creative for its lovable representation of supernatural creatures and family storylines. Debbie Reynold, who played the grandmother, had talented acting skills contributing to the movie’s primary success. She was a legendary actress and is still loved by all. People continue to view this film, along with the others created later on, as an extraordinary film, increasing the fandom and still making it an enjoyable film to watch during the Halloween season.
