Movies in Making

We all love movies but have you ever wondered how movies are formed into the amazing films we continue to enjoy watching today?

Brainstorming behind the cameras

Before a movie is filmed with actors and certain equipment, the producers gather different ideas to formulate a proper story with the basic plot of the beginning, the middle, and the end. As they take their time to think of a storyline, they begin to imagine all of the different types of elements a story contains, such as dialogue, characters, genre, theme, special effects, scenery, and soundtracks.

The Writing and Drawing Process

Once the producers have gathered their ideas, they will hire a writer to design and write a script for everyone on the movie production team. This script will consist of the dialogue said among the characters and the in-between scenes, in other words, what the producer would typically say during or after they have finished a scene. The writer, the actors, and the team members can continue to add their ideas as the story goes along.

After the script has been written, the team’s designers draw how each scene might look as it reflects the dialogue. This process is considered to be an essential part of the filmmaking process, as it organizes and arranges how the scene should be filmed with specific camera angles. Sometimes, while drawing the scenes, the team can change their minds and remove or improve them.

Choosing the right team for the Job

In this part, producers take a long process to choose well-experienced crew members and have numerous auditions to pick the right actors or actresses for the specific type of movie characters. Some of the people selected for this film include the movie extras.

Picking the right scenery

If the crew is filming a live-action movie, they will search for the best location to emphasize the story’s plot. However, if the crew films a cartoon movie, they must choose the proper background for each scene, as it also correlates to the story’s plot.

The Start of Filming

Throughout this part, the team and the producer’s leadership will arrange a schedule of when each scene should be filmed. They consider that a scene can take them less or more than an hour, especially if there are setbacks, such as unpredictable weather conditions.

Editing and Finalizing the Film

Once the movie has been filmed, there is a longer process: editing the entire movie. During this process, some crew members will add some aspects to the movie. These elements may include sound effects, soundtrack, color saturation or highlights, credit scenes, etc. Producers sometimes hire an editor to help them take over the process. Towards the end of this process, it is advised to gather opinions from others to finalize the film or make some last-minute changes.

That was such an informational read, you did great! I really enjoyed how u simplified each step but still kept it very detailed and thorough. It made appreciate more the movies I’ve watched and the processes the come along with them so much more. Are there any directors or actors that you truly admire or inspire you?

  2. What interests me about your topic is how it’s a different concept. It’s not how one would assume the blog topic is about movies. It’s different and shares another aspect that makes this blog cool and special. I never would’ve thought there would be this number of specialized people part of this process rather than just a couple of main ones.
