Goals for the Blogs

As a child, I’ve always had a creative imagination, whether creating stories based on the places or experiences I’ve had or drawing what I envision throughout my ideas. My initial way of expressing these ideas was to draw and paint them, but one day, I discovered that writing is another creative form that I used to portray my experiences, ideas, and emotions. I can never say I am a perfect writer; however, if I let my creative mind go, I can write interesting things. I would love to explore my writing abilities further by writing about the topic I am most interested in to intrigue others. I believe that to improve my writing, I must practice it daily, and why not practice it with something I enjoy? Therefore, I will take a new approach to portraying and writing my creative ideas.

Why are movies my topic of interest?

Since the day I watched my first ever movie, I have fallen in love with them. Along with movies, I eventually found a passion for writing, as it gave me a sense of relief and peace, and I could write about anything I was curious about. Throughout my life, I have encountered a few obstacles along the way or even some minor moments of stress and anxiety. However, watching movies and writing has encouraged me to relieve my stress and any other emotions I may have felt during that moment. I have always found an interest in writing as it allows me to express my emotions and creative and imaginative ideas. Once in a while, I write short stories and write any thoughts down in my journal or on my phone. I have decided to explore my writing abilities by involving one of my favorite interests in my life, such as movies.

Throughout my blog posts, I will write about the different aspects of movies. For instance, I will be exploring the various genres of movies, their storylines, music, special effects, characters, settings, emotions, and many other categories. I plan to approach these blog posts by commenting and reacting to different movies, ranging from clips from a movie to the movie overall. It would be fascinating to write and further explain the plot of the movies by writing more descriptive details, such as talking about the movie’s theme or the reason behind the change of emotions from the characters. For the scope of my topic, I am staying local by exploring and writing about movies produced throughout the United States of America. As I input my perspective on these movies, I want to incorporate a variety of writing styles by discussing topics such as love, family drama, life lessons, good vs. evil, and adulthood. Even though  I tend to write about these ideas, I might feel inspired to write about other topics and embody the writing styles of poetry. 

Who will be my audience?

My primary target audience is my classmates and teachers; however, when I’m writing, I think about my parents being my target audience, as they have always loved reading what my imaginative mind can create. All of my target audience is familiar with the variety of genres movies can be based upon. As much as my audience may know about movies, I hope that my audience will be more intrigued by the more profound meaning and inspiration behind the production of each of them. By writing new writing styles about movies, I look forward to my audience finding an interest in exploring different genres and characteristics movies can portray while gaining more knowledge about them. 

Challenges along the way . . .

Growing up, I have always pushed myself to accomplish my goals and succeed. Within these blog posts, it can be a challenge at times, but if I focus and encourage my ideas, I can write something intriguing and inspiring to others. Even though I already know the basics of movies, I still have a lot to learn from them, which would be more interesting than just learning about the genre of the movie. Movies are viewed as simple ways to enjoy and have an excellent time. Still, they have a thorough understanding of themes, main ideas, characters, settings, emotions, language, and many other forms of literature. Along with trying out different writing styles, I plan to involve mixed media throughout my blog posts. As mixed media can range from collages, posters, digital art, paintings, images, and many more, I would love to correlate these forms of mixed media and writing. These three ideas of writing, using mixed media, and researching movies further are a few of my main interests and passions in life, working as a guide to help me write these blog posts and make them more enjoyable.            

Conclusive Reflections

Involving my classmates and teachers throughout this challenge will allow me to build courage and confidence as I learn from their points of view. I hope what I write and design in these blog posts will interest my viewers and develop a new interest or a greater passion in their lives. I am happy to see how this new project will help us strengthen our writing skills.
